Membership Benefits & How to Join

The NSW Standardbred Owners Association (NSWSOA) plays an important role in the formulation of all policy matters related to harness racing in New South Wales & Australia and represents the interests of its' members directly to Harness Racing NSW.

 

Membership Benefits

 

* Enables owners to have some influence on the direction of the industry particularly in relation to horse ownership.

* Entitles members to vote at the annual AGM and/or become member of the executive.

*If a horse has a lessee, the lessee's (the person able to receive the bonus)  must be a current member prior to nominations closing to be eligible. 

* Members are eligible for prize draw at our Annual Awards Night (Holiday Package).

* Entry and dinner for Member at the Annual NSWSOA Awards Night.

* A monthly owners membership draw valued at $100 plus another $100 if one of your horses wins a race that month.

* Information Centre for owners or potential owners.

* First Past The Post Series - The first horse past the post which is owned by a financial member will be declared the winner (after all clear).

 

*The managing owner, provided they are a current financial member of the NSWSOA, retains full discretion to retain or distribute the funds among the other owners as they see fit.

​

The committee of the NSWSOA is in constant negotiations with race clubs and industry providers to increase the benefits available to members of the Association.  (You don't have to be a current owner to be a Member).
